Revolut X trading bot: the three ways to automate Revolut X today
TickHint Dev Team · · 6 min read
There are three ways to automate Revolut X in 2026: Revolut’s own AI-assistant connection, writing your own bot against the API, or TickHint, which adds cloud agents, Telegram approvals and strategies that run while you are away. What each one does, and what Revolut X itself does not allow.

Short answer: Revolut X has an API, so you can automate it. In October 2026 there are three practical routes. Revolut's own AI-assistant connection lets Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw or Cursor trade for you in conversation. Your own bot gives you full control, if you write and host the code. TickHint adds what a chat cannot: agents that keep watch in the cloud and send trade ideas to Telegram with an Approve button, and rule-based strategies that run on every closed bar.
What Revolut X allows, whichever route you take
These limits come from Revolut X itself, so every tool has them:
- Spot crypto only. No margin and no shorting. You can sell only what you hold.
- Market and limit orders. No stop-loss or take-profit orders on the exchange.
- Real money only. There is no Revolut X demo account. Test with a backtest and a small size first.
- About 1,000 orders a day per account. That is plenty for a person, but a grid bot can hit it.
- API keys sign every request with an Ed25519 key you generate. Keep the private key private; anyone holding it can trade your account.
Route 1: Revolut's AI-assistant connection
In mid-2026 Revolut connected Revolut X to third-party AI assistants: Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw and Cursor, plus a universal skill and a command-line tool for others. Revolut says no coding is needed. You can ask for a portfolio summary, pull live prices, set price alerts and place market or limit orders in plain language. You can also describe a strategy, such as a grid on Bitcoin, and get its historical results. Every AI-generated order waits for your approval.
Good for: trading Revolut X by conversation, inside an assistant you already use.
Keep in mind: Revolut describes it as conversational. You ask, it acts. Revolut also says it does not guarantee third-party AI tools and is not liable for their mistakes.
Route 2: write your own bot
The Revolut X API, and community libraries such as an open-source Rust SDK, let you build anything the exchange allows. A grid, DCA, a rebalancer, your own signals.
Good for: developers who want full control and do not mind running a server.
Keep in mind: you write the risk checks, the order cap, the reconnects and the alerts. You also look after the key. Most bot failures are not bad strategies. They are a process that died at 3 a.m.
Route 3: TickHint
TickHint connects to Revolut X with your API key and Ed25519 key. You get TickMate, an AI assistant that reads your real Revolut X balances, in the browser and on Telegram. Three things go beyond a chat:
- Agents that keep watch. Say it once: "Watch BTC and ETH every hour until Thursday's Fed decision and tell me if there's a trade worth taking." The agent runs in the cloud on that schedule, and your phone stays in your pocket. When it finds something, Telegram gets a card with the pair, side, size and reasoning, and two buttons. Nothing reaches Revolut X until you press Approve. How a scheduled agent works.
- Strategies that run on their own. Describe a rule-based idea and TickMate writes it as code you can read. Backtest it in a sentence, then deploy it to your Revolut X account. It runs on each closed bar, from 1 minute to 1 day, on USD pairs, within the max position size and max open positions you set. How Strategy Studio works.
- One assistant for every account. The same TickMate works on cTrader, Alpaca and Kraken, so a Revolut X position and a forex position sit on the same desk.
Good for: traders who want automation without writing or hosting code, and who want to approve trades from their phone.
Keep in mind: the Revolut X limits above apply here too. TickHint has its own on top:
- Strategies trade USD pairs only for now.
- No max daily loss. We cannot yet read the per-trade history we would need to work out the day's loss on Revolut X, so the strategy runs without a daily loss limit. The deploy sheet says so, and asks you to acknowledge it.
- No demo. Every strategy runs on real money from its first bar, so start small.

Questions
Is there an official Revolut X trading bot? Revolut does not run bots for you. It offers an API and, since 2026, a connection to third-party AI assistants. A bot is something you build or use through a third party such as TickHint.
Can I test a Revolut X bot on a demo account? No. Revolut X has no demo or paper trading. Backtest first, then start with a small amount. If you want to practise automation risk-free, connect a demo account at another broker first, such as cTrader or Alpaca paper. The same tools work there.
Can a Revolut X bot use stop-losses? Not as orders on the exchange: Revolut X takes market and limit orders only. A strategy can still exit when its rules say so, on the next closed bar.
Does TickHint hold my crypto? No. Your crypto stays at Revolut. TickHint holds an API key that can trade, and you can disconnect it in one click.
